Real Money Tips That Actually Work When You're Broke & Stressed

I’m not gonna lie to you. Right now I’m juggling rent, bank payments, LDR with my husband, and even AdSense policy violations on my blog. It’s a lot. A few weeks ago I was panicking. I wanted to buy a car. I wanted to start TikTok shop. I wanted to fix everything at once. And you know what happened? Nothing got fixed and I felt worse. So I stopped. And I made 3 new rules. These are the real money tips that are actually keeping me afloat in Dubai right now. No fluff. No "just drink coffee at home" advice. Just stuff that works when you’re stressed and the dirhams are tight.  If you’re in the same boat, this is for you. Rule 1: Survival First, Dreams Later This was the hardest one. My husband and I had big plans - car, business, travel. But our rent was due and DIB was calling. We had to choose: fund the dream or keep a roof over our heads.  We chose the roof. What this looks like: 1. List your non-negotiables: Rent, food, DEWA, phone, transport, minimum debt payments 2. ...

3 Amazon Products I REFUSED to Recommend + Why

Bestie, I’m an Amazon Associate. But I’m also broke in UAE summer πŸ˜‚

I’d rather make 0 AED than recommend trash and lose your trust. So here are 3 Amazon.ae products I bought, tested in my Ajman apartment, and REFUSED to put in Post #12.

Full disclosure: I bought all 3 with my own money. No free PR, no fake review. Harami sat on 2 of them in protest.

1. Mini USB “Portable AC” - 79 AED

What they promised: “Blows cold air like AC. 5°C cooler instantly”

What it actually did: Blows room-temperature air with ice cubes. Lasts 40 mins before ice melts = puddle.

My test: Room temp: 31°C. After 30 mins with this: 30.5°C 😭 Plus humidity went UP.

Why I refused: It’s just a fan + water tank. Costs 8 AED/month in electricity to run. My standing fan = better + cheaper.

Harami verdict: Slept next to it once. Never again.

Buy instead: Tower Fan from Post #12 for 149 AED. Real airflow.

2. Magnetic Window Screen for AC Leaks - 25 AED

What they promised: “Seal your AC gap, stop cold air loss”

What it actually did: Magnet fell off in 2 days because UAE humidity. Tape left sticky marks on my paint. Landlord was NOT happy.

My test: Held a paper near AC pipe gap. Paper didn’t move before OR after.

Why I refused: Doesn’t work on Dubai/Ajman AC pipe gaps. Wrong product for UAE apartments. Foam draft stopper from Post #12 = 10x better.

Landlord tax: Spent 35 AED repainting. Total loss = 60 AED.

3. “Solar Powered” Exhaust Fan for Windows - 89 AED

What they promised: “No electricity. Sucks hot air out using sun”

What it actually did: Needs direct sun + zero wind to spin. Ajman balconies = shaded + windy. Fan barely moved.

My test: Ran it 3 days on balcony. Room got hotter because I left window open.

Why I refused: UAE apartments are shaded by buildings. Solar doesn’t work unless you’re on a villa roof.

Buy instead: Door Draft Stopper + Blackout Curtains from Post #12 = actual results.

The Rule I Follow Now:

If it sounds “too good to be true” for 45°C UAE heat, it is. No 79 AED gadget replaces real AC + curtains + fan.

Why I’m telling you this:

Post #12 had 5 products that saved me 310 AED. If I only showed wins, you’d think I’m fake. Real blogs show losses too.

I lost 193 AED testing these 3 so you don’t have to. You’re welcome πŸ˜‚

Your turn: What’s the worst UAE product you bought from Amazon/TikTok? Comment below so we can warn each other. I’ll go first πŸ‘†

Next post: “My Real DEWA Bill Breakdown: May vs July in Ajman” with screenshots. You’ll see how the 5 good products actually performed.

P.S. All 5 good products from Post #12 are still here. Harami sleeps on the blackout curtain box daily. That’s his approval stamp.
